Frances Scott – ‘Another way of reading’. A research residency at Swiss Cottage Library.

31st March – 11 May 2014

Another way of reading is a six week research residency at Swiss Cottage Library, and partnership between the Zabludowicz Collection and London Borough of Camden. It builds on the current exhibition at the Zabludowicz Collection, Infinite City, which was developed in collaboration with the Kadist Art Foundation, San Francisco. Infinite City features works by nine artists, drawn equally from each collection, to examine the city as material, site, and situation for the contemporary lived experience. The residency also coincides with the 50th anniversary of Swiss Cottage Library, a Grade II listed building of architectural significance, designed by Sir Basil Spence and opened in 1964.

Details here.

As part of the residency, Frances will be in conversation on Sunday 6 April with artist Jonathan Murphy, and curator Kelly Large. The talk will take place at Swiss Cottage Library at 2pm – to introduce the research, and the exhibition of selected works from both Camden and Zabludowicz collections: Derek Jarman, Plague Street (1972) and Allora & Calzadilla, How to Appear Invisible (2008). The group will then walk to the Zabludowicz Collection to see the current exhibition, Infinite City.
